Criminal Justice

Bachelor of Science Degree
The foundation for a career in criminal justice.

Theory and practice comprise the foundation of the Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Criminal Justice. Designed to prepare students for entry-level careers as criminal justice professionals, the program addresses the roles, functions, systems, and operations of corrections, probation, the courts, and other fields of criminal justice.

In addition to a strong grounding in the fundamentals, students can develop an understanding of criminal justice from sociological and psychological perspectives. The program’s General Education curriculum enables graduates the opportunity to be well-rounded and possess the communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills sought by today’s employers.

Career Opportunities for Criminal Justice Bachelor’s Degree graduates:

  • Community corrections personnel
  • Correctional officers
  • Private security positions
  • Probation officers
  • Social service positions

Additional education and/or experience may be required for some positions.

Bachelor of  Science Degree
36 months – 12 quarters – 180 quarter credits


Associate of Applied Science
Contributing to public and private safety and security.

The Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Criminal Justice is designed to provide you with the technical and operational knowledge and skills you need to perform in entry-level careers in various segments of the field of criminal justice. The exciting and growing career areas include corrections, private security, and the courts.

The curriculum is designed to provide you with grounding in criminal justice theory and practice as well as roles, functions, systems, and operations. The program explores criminal justice from a sociological and psychological perspective, and is rounded out with a General Education curriculum that can provide you with the life skills necessary to be successful in your chosen field.

Career Opportunities for Criminal Justice Specialized Associate Degree graduates:

  • Community corrections personnel
  • Correctional officers
  • Private security positions and other support.
